OPRA and OPRAmobile are entirely based on SAP; therefore interfaces or middleware solutions are not needed. The data exchange with other SAP modules like MM, FI/CO, HR, etc. as well as the release capability with new SAP are thus possible. OPRA supports SAP as a strategic ERP solution. As the OPRA source code is directly implemented in SAP, it requires no additional hardware nor databases.
One data base
With OPRA no data must be recorded twice, because in addition to the SAP system, also no SAP systems can be easily integrated in the solution. A data and maintenance acquisition in various applications is therefore not necessary. All data are collected, issued or evaluated by the OPRA cockpits. The data quality increases considerably.
OPRA displays the most important processes for an efficient plant maintenance and Asset Lifecycle Management, which just need to comply with the customer-specific requirements. As a general result this leads to a very rapid and economic implementation of OPRA, when SAP PM / EAM is already in use. In particular, if you have already planned to install SAP PM / EAM, this means a high potential of time and money saving. A SAP PM / EAM implementation implies that processes must be first defined and then mapped into the SAP system. Therefore there are no temporal expenditure nor significant implementation costs. Since most of SAP PM / EAM processes are already defined in OPRA, they just need to be adjusted to the customer's requirements; whilst PM / EAM only allows basic-customizing.
Processes vs. Transactions
Generally OPRA works process-oriented. This means that with OPRA only the necessary data of several SAP transactions are recorded in very clear cockpits. Once all data are collected, they are automatically stored in the appropriate place in the database, and if necessary, relevant processing operations are performed automatically in the background; even in no SAP systems (e.g. Earth systems, Excel-sheets etc.). In a classic SAP PM / EAM application all data (whether required or not) must be entered to a transaction in order to get to the following transaction. A task may require several transactions before this is concluded. The decisive advantage is thus the increased efficiency of the entire system as well as of individual users.
Appealing user interface
Appealing and user-friendly interfaces lead to a higher user acceptance of the system, reduce the error rate and accelerate their familiarisation. This also leads to an increase in efficiency of the user and the system.
Structured master data
The OPRA solution concept does not begin with the efficient visualization, but rather with the design and definition of the structured and integrated data basis on which the asset, plant maintenance and service management are built.
